With his Liverpool season wrapped up, Ryan Gravenberch spoke on international duty about who he thinks should win the 2025 Ballon d’Or.

Ryan Gravenberch is heading into the summer on a high after the best season of his career so far, he was named Premier League Young Player of the Season for 2024-25.

Integral to Liverpool’s Premier League title success, the Dutch midfielder started 37 league games, thriving in a new deeper role and helping guide the Reds to the 20th League title.

Gravenberch said, “I showed myself to the world again and achieved my goals.” “It’s been a super-great season, and that makes me proud.”

“I knew I could do it… it actually went naturally.”

Gravenberch also expressed his excitement about Jeremie Frimpong joining Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen:

“We didn’t really have to convince him.

I’m super happy that he’s my teammate.”

When asked about the 2025 Ballon d’Or by Dutch outlet Voetbalzone, Gravenberch said: “That’s a tough one, but I’ll go for my teammate: Mohamed Salah.”

Having played alongside Salah all season, Gravenberch has seen firsthand the Egyptian’s relentless brilliance — his goals, leadership, and consistency.

Salah finished the season with 34 goals and 23 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions, including an astonishing 47 goal involvements in the Premier League alone (29 goals + 18 assists).

Salah’s stats do the talking — but when a player like Gravenberch backs him without hesitation, it shows the level of respect Salah commands inside the dressing room.
